The project was launched in May 2009. It raises awareness of children, youth and adults about online safety by stressing the advantages of the Internet and real hazards it can bring.
The project educates children about their rights to privacy through interactive CDs translated into Armenia that also teaches children golden rules on on-line safety in a friendly and entertaining manner.
Fifteen trainings were held in Tavoush, Gyumri and Talin for 450 young people. The training and learning opportunities will continue to involve youngster during the whole period of the project implementation.
In 2011 the project enlarges its scope of activities by creating cooperation with new partners such as Microsoft Armenia, KTAK information center of MOES, Child Orientation Center of FAR and Media Education NGO to establish a hotline to respond to the cases of on-line abuse and bullying, a website on internet security with on-line reporting system, as well as develop Armenian version of InSafe game - a Family e-safety kit.
The project also targets the development of a new legislation on Internet security and cyber crime.
